Last Sunday, I spent the afternoon with a wonderfully talented 9 year old girl and we made Valentine cards together for her classmates. It's so rewarding to work with kids and to see their imagination and creativity blossoming. She and I made a bevy (that's 26 in Canada...) of cards, each one unique and expressive, for each of her classmates, teachers and teacher assistants.
We had great fun and she is so pleased to have spent the afternoon crafting. This girl is all about crafts and science. An unlikely marriage perhaps but it's what seems to light her fire.
I hope you enjoy our work. I think she did an awesome job!

Oh, the cards look GREAT! I love that my 5 year old LOVES crafting with mommy! Crafting with kidlets is so much fun!
oh FUN-makes me wish I could do the same!! -I don't have kids, but love working w/ youth ;)
or even just make cards for an afternoon...but alas, all my scrapbook supplies are far from me for the time being *sigh*
One of the most enjoyable experiences in the world is working with children, following their imagination and creative flow. A marriage of science and art?? I think that's a splendid combination...she'll go far in life this young lady!! And the cards? Stunning!!!
What fun you two had crafting such beautiful valentine's day cards!! Isn't creating with your kids such a joy? Just the best!
Crafting and art, what an amazing combination... she'll do great in th future. Really cute cards!
These cards look awesome. I love the fun valentines colors.:-)
Those are so cute and fun! They look fantastic!
Those cards are adorable! I taught grade one last year and watching the kids discover themselves in art was truly amazing. Sounds like you had a good time!
How beautiful they came! I love to craft with children. My nephew, at five, says that he is a better artist then Aunt Allie!
It's great encouragement for them to express their imagination!
Keep up the good work!

I did the same thing with my daughter right before Valentine's Day. Next year I'll start a little bit earlier like you did...Forgot to snap pics for my portfolio though...am still learning!
Also wanted to say I enjoy your Etsy shop...especially love the "Cricket Clips". Love your color choices! Would it be okay to link your blog to mine (still designing it)?
Hi CinnamonSpice! Thanks so much for your wonderful comments. It seems the valentines were very well received at school but for one boy who tore his us. What is it with some boys?
